This helps dancers build a refined movement quality, spatial awareness, and emotional expression—enhancing their performance in all other styles, including contemporary, jazz, and lyrical.
Acro classes challenge the dancer both physically and mentally, promoting confidence, resilience, and a deepened understanding of the body. It is an exciting and empowering discipline that transforms technical skill into stunning performance.
Tap
Tap is a vibrant and rhythmic form of dance where the dancer becomes both performer and musician. Using metal plates on the shoes to create intricate sounds and patterns, tap dance transforms movement into percussion—teaching dancers to think of their feet as instruments.

Dancers learn foundational steps and combinations that evolve into complex rhythmic sequences, enhancing their ability to listen, count music, and execute precise footwork with clarity and control.
Tap dance has two major stylistic branches: Broadway Tap, which focuses on performance, clarity, and storytelling often seen in musical theater; and Rhythm (Jazz) Tap, which emphasizes complex musical phrasing, improvisation, and syncopated footwork more closely aligned with jazz music. At Elevation Dance Academy, dancers are introduced to elements of both styles, giving them a well-rounded education and the tools to find their own unique sound.
Beyond its technical demands, tap builds confidence, musicality, and performance presence.
